Mercy

A Jewish man was traveling on a trip from Jerusalem to Jericho, and he was attacked by bandits. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him up, and left him half dead beside the road. By chance a priest came along. But when he saw the man lying there, he crossed to the other side of the road and passed him by. (NLT) ( Luke 10:30-31 )

When you see someone in need, do you secretly pout and groan inside? Being a Christian we are responsible to help others. However, sometimes we turn the other way and cross to the other side of the road. A lot of times we just don't want to get involved, lose time, or hear a sob story. Be generous with your mercy.

Tongue is a flame

And the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. (NLT) ( James 3:6 )

While you can delete a tweet, spoken words are heard immediately and remembered forever. You may be in an awkward relationship at the moment because of this. Remember those tongue depressors at the doctor's office? It's difficult to talk and equally difficult to hear with one in your mouth. Before you speak discouraging or criticizing words, put a "tongue depressor" in your mouth and remember that God loves them.

Contentment in The Lord

But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. (NLT) ( 1 Timothy 6:9 )

Ask around and everyone will tell you they wish they had more money. But yet, more than likely, there is food on the table and clothes on their backs. We must be diligent in our thoughts to avoid longing to be rich. This greediness leaves us vulnerable to take risks that lead to ruin all for the sake of being rich. Seek out contentment in the Lord and you will receive many blessings.
